WilderHill Progressive Energy Index® (WHPRO) for low-carbon, was aimed to progressively reduce all carbon and pollution in dominant fossil fuels energy. This Index, live from 2006 to 2019 captured opportunities for decarbonizing our energy portrait away from CO2 and greenhouse emissions. It was first for this theme, unlike any other, and arguably ahead of its time.
In contrast to zero-carbon renewables like solar & wind in benchmarks WilderHill Clean Energy Index (ECO) -- and outside the U.S. in WilderHill New Energy Global Innovation Index (NEX) — instead WHPRO focused on progressively reducing near-term harms that can come from carbon and climate change, increasing efficiency of fossil fuels, and making better use today's still-dominant energy sources.
